Changes to Regulations for 26/27 Summer League

Introduction

Below I have attached a link to a document that outlines the changes in relation to the 26/27 Summer League commencing 15th June 2026. These have been made in line with the PDPL constitution, allowing the committee to make changes they feel will benefit the league. They have been fully discussed, argued and fought over before a vote and a pint ratified them.

A summary of the changes are as follows:

  • Earlier start time for those teams who have a lengthy journey to a match eg. Longridge to Tarleton to allow an earlier finish for those with an early start for work etc.

  • Removal of the away win bonus point

  • Clarification on claiming frames and matches

  • Increased transparency from the committee

  • Changes to rules around resigning teams

  • Changes to rules around failure to attend matches

The rule changes are based  around fairness for all. In the case of resigning teams the changes will allow the efforts of teams to be rewarded by not losing points they have worked for but only for completed halves of a season. Where there is a failure to attend a match fairness applies not only to the team who have been ‘wronged’ but to the other teams in the division.

At the end of the season the committee will review how these rules have been used and change if necessary.
