The AGM will (finally) take place on Saturday 21st February at 7:00pm, Deepdale Labour Club.

It will be a packed night with one of the highlights being the trophy presentation from the 2025 Summer League!!!!!!!!!

However, there will also be a number of other matters to work through and it is important that we use this AGM to take the next step forward after, what has been a trying couple of years, for those who have been working behind the scenes to firstly, keep the league running and secondly, bring about a raft of useful changes; RackEmApp, new competitions, online payments, automated cup draws to name a few.

At this point I would like to thank Neil Loughbrough for all his hard work over the last two years. He has taken the decision to step down from the committee at the AGM. However he is passing all the platforms to Josh and I over this coming week. I have asked him not to reply to any official business so all should be directed to the WhatsApp pages or via the contact methods on the website where Josh, Craig or I will pick it up. Once again may I pass the thanks of the committee and I'm sure the thanks of the players for all his hard work. 

What is important now is to recognise that hard work, because it has made life easier for those on the committee, and since taking over as Interim Chairman, I have seen first hand that work. I must say I am proud now to be part of that, which is why I will be putting myself forward for the permanent Chairpersons role.

With that in mind there are a number of other committee roles available for people to volunteer for and I want you all to understand that we are trying to build on what PDPL has always been - A community. A community of people from all walks of life, of all genders, races etc with one thing in common - Pool. I remind you of that because in amongst all administration, travelling, app issues we all get together to play pool, have a laugh, be serious, maybe have a drink or two but ultimately be a community of pool players.

Now that bit is over with I get to the point of this post, the committee and the AGM.

We need committee members and, as the work becomes more automated, the role takes up less time (there is still work to do on this but we are getting there) and as such the call on your time reduces. This allows the committee to make decisions on your behalf with thought and consideration for the best direction of the League and its future development. Currently there are five roles out of six available, though I will stand for the Chairpersons role. There will also be a number of non-committee roles we would like to create, volunteers who help the committee in the background with low levels tasks/responsibilities that allow the committee to concentrate on developing the League. I would like to press that we are looking to add more equal representation to match the diverse range of people who play in our great League. We dont have any 'young' people or female representation on the committee so please come forward if you think you can help, but anyone who can help and has a bit of time please get in touch.
