Preston and District Pool League

The league has been running non-stop since somewhere around 1971, although records are sketchy on the exact start date!

Pool Season Start – Postponed

I am sure that most of you will have seen the latest news and government response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the outbreak and status in the UK. These are clearly troubling times and will have a significant impact on our daily activities. Based on the advice now given out, that we should all avoid pubs, clubs, restaurants and theatres, the next season start date will now be postponed until such a time that we can safely start-up again.

DO NOT submit any player registrations or attend the meeting on Wednesday evening.

Limit your social interactions to keep yourselves and your families’ virus-free.

We hope you understand why we have taken this difficult decision and our thoughts go out to all our members, families and friends and hope that the impact on our community is kept low.

Stay healthy, stay safe and look after your loved ones.

League Chairman/Secretary

League Background

Once one of the biggest leagues in the whole of Europe, Monday night was pool night and combined with the number of public houses in Preston, this meant if you were out on a Monday night, you almost certainly had a pool cue in one hand (and a beer in the other!)

We play league matches on a Monday night with Thursday’s being competition night and we run Individuals (Main and Plate), Scotch Pairs (alternate shots), League Cup and League Shield.
