Important Notice – AGM & Trophy Presentation Date Change

Date will be rearranged for another Saturday due to clashing with The Ladies League Finals and Presentation Night !

The Preston & District Pool League would like to inform all members that the Annual General Meeting and the Presentation of Summer 2025 Season Trophies will now take place on:
Saturday, 31st January 2026

Venue: Deepdale Labour Club

This change means the event will be held one day later than originally announced.
The evening will include:
•     Presentation of trophies from the Summer 2025 season
•     Reflection on the past year and discussion of the league’s future
•     Opportunities for members to step forward and join the committee

Committee News:
•     At the last Committee meeting, Hadrian Alty stepped down as Chairman. We thank him for his service.
•     Mark Skellorn has stepped in as Interim Chairman. The Chairman role will be up for election at the AGM. If no one challenges Mark’s position and he wishes to continue, he will become the new Chairman.
•     Neil, our long‑serving League Secretary, will also be stepping down following his dedicated service. The League Secretary role is central to the smooth running of the league, working alongside the Chairman and also acting as Financial Officer. Neil has carried out responsibilities across matches, tournaments, and wider league administration. While the new Rack’Em app has reduced the amount of admin required, the workload is still too much for one person, and the committee believes it is healthier for different people to take on separate roles.

Essential Positions to be filled:
•     Chairman oversees the league, promotes its profile, supports expansion, and develops sponsorship opportunities
•     League Secretary – oversees the running of the league alongside the Chairman and acts as Financial Officer
•     Trophy & Presentation Secretary – manages trophies and presentation events
•     Match/Division Secretary – oversees the running of the Divisions
•     Tournament Secretary – oversees all tournaments and competitions
•     Media & IT Officer – manages communications, technology, and digital platforms

Non essential Roles (not essential for the league’s core operations, but valuable additions):
•     Interleague Representative – represents the league in interleague matches and coordinates participation
•     Youth Development Officer – supports and promotes youth involvement in the league
Other roles are also available, so if you are interested in contributing in any capacity, please come forward.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 31st January 2026 for an evening of celebration, discussion, and shared commitment to the Preston & District Pool League.
